Tips about apartment rentals in Israel

When going online to search for an apartment rental in Israel you are bound to find a wide range of prices for what appears to be apartments of a similiar size. What you don't realize is that there is a difference between a family apartment that is made available for a short period of time,in which you are living with other people's "Stuff"-or a true holiday apartment-beautifully appointed, well cared for with empty closets to boot! Also, it is rare to find a rental quote that includes utilities-this is true in Europe as well. The cost of electricity in Israel is very high and Israelis are very conscious of their use of air conditioning and heating.
A separate charge for having an apartment cleaned and the linens washed upon checkout is also standard procedure of most apartment rentals in Israel and in Europe. This fee can be anywhere from $100-$200 depending upon the size of the apartment and the number of people staying there.

Here is a sample of some of the Holiday Apartments that are available for rental-the prices vary depending upon the season and the number of guests in the apartment:

-German Colony-Off of Emek Refaim-this extraordinary 3 bedroom suite apartment is located minutes from the shops and eateries on Emek Refaim. Each suite has its own full bathroom and 2 of the suites have a sitting room as well. This duplex ground floor apartment can sleep 8-10 people. There is a great spot for a Succah, a fully equipped kosher kitchen, washer and dryer, cable TV and Internet and Central air conditioning.

-Lovely 2 bedroom 2 full bathroom apartment, AC, cable TV, wireless internet, compete kitchen.washer and dryer. Minutes from Emek Refaim. Patio perfect for a Succah.

-Kiryat Shmuel/Talbieh-Magnificient 3 bedroom, 3 full bathroom penthouse apartment with panoramic views of Jerusalem. There is a succah balcony as well as the option of a rooftop succah that can seat 20 people. Fully equipped kosher kitchen, washer and dryer, cable TV and Internet, and central air conditioning. The apartment is located near the Presidents house and the Jerusalem Theatre, up the street from Inbal Hotel , walking distance to the Old City and Emek Refaim.

-Rehavia -Lovely 1st floor apartment (12 steps up from the street) in the heart of Rehavia-located near Rehov Azza. This newly renovated apartment has 2 bedroom , a sitting room, living room /dining room and fully equipped kosher kitchen. The apartment has cable TV, Internet and central air conditioning. There is a patio perfect for a Succah. This apartment is suitable for a couple or 4 adults.

-Rennovated ground floor apartment(6 steps down from the street) across the street from the above listed apartment.  This is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment with a sleep sofa in the living room. Cable TV/ wireless internet/ central air.  Can comfortably sleep 4-5 people.  Lovely garden perfect for a Succah.


-Old Katamon- This newly renovated airy first floor apartment (no stairs at all) has three bedrooms, two baths and an open kitchen livingroom area.  With  central air, cable tv, and internet this apartment can comfortably accomodate 6 people.  Centrally located on the corner of Rehov Hapalmach, it is in walking distance of restaurants , the Jerusalem Theater and Emek Refaim.
